Project Lucia: A benchmark for the FTTH area
In October 2018, the construction of one of Germany's largest FTTH projects will start in Hamburg. The in-house name: Project Lucia. Pott Kabelservice GmbH, part of the braun teleCom business group, leads the much-noticed benchmark project. 117.000 residential units are going to be provided with a PON fiber optic connection within 39 months. The project requires 150 installations per day, consisting of 1.200 subprojects and collocation points as well as about 5.000 earth cable connections between the buildings.

Dieter Kynast, Project Lucia's project leader, reasons the project's success: "We established a project organization, that is specialized in fiber technology, instead of only dealing with it incidentally. As the leading company, braun teleCom has founded a highly specialized workforce. Whereas the project management and -planning are located within the company, the execution of construction work was assigned to 6 specialized, national as well as international partners, that have more than 100 fiber engineers at their disposal. For the project we implemented IT and logistics processes, that are adjusted especially for FTTH and consist of effective procedures. Therefore they are highly scalable for future projects." |

AND library update
Within our homepage's login area we have now provided a new library for the AND planning tool. It contains our taps, splitters and outlets.
Caution!
Older components, that can not be supplied anymore (e. g. MS, MT and XS, XT, XMT, etc.), are no longer contained in this library! The component's IDs within this new library are reused in part. If you are using any older components as mentioned above within your AND planning, you will need to keep the previous libraries in addition and must not replace it with the new library. |
